Study Abroad in Berlin: Cultural Excursions

London, England (3 days)

Included only for students on the optional AIFS Flight Package

Get to know your fellow students before traveling to campus and take a sightseeing tour with a professional guide who will point out some of London’s famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. You will also have free time to visit museums, see a play or stroll in London’s beautiful parks.

Includes accommodations, breakfast, entrance fees and sightseeing as indicated. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Dresden (day trip)

Dresden (which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site) is a well-known and picturesque city, situated near the Czech border in a valley on the River Elbe. Next to famous sights in the old city such as the opera “Semperoper” and the reconstructed church “Frauenkirche,” Dresden also invites visitors to see the city from the river Elbe and even visit the near-by petite vineyards or the “Elbe Sandstone Monuments” by boat. With its numerous bars and cafés, the city attracts many students from all over Germany.

Includes transportation, sightseeing and entrances to various sights.

Optional excursion to Prague, Czech Republic (3 days – $425)

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, as well as one of the most popular tourist destinations.

Travel by train from Berlin to Prague. Overnight in Prague. The next day, take a guided tour of the huge Hradcany Castle complex, including the cathedral, the 14th century Charles Bridge and the architectural artistry of Malá Strana. Enjoy free time to stroll down Golden Lane, once a favorite of alchemists, or explore the Prague Ghetto, which includes Europe’s oldest cemetery.

On day three enjoy a free morning to explore Prague before returning to Berlin.

Includes accommodations, breakfast, transportation, sightseeing and entrances as indicated, but not lunch and dinner. Students must enroll and pay for this excursion by April 15. Students who apply after the deadline may enroll subject to availability. If a minimum enrollment of 10 is not achieved, the tour may be cancelled. Once paid for in the U.S., optional excursions are non-refundable except in the event of cancellation.
