Institute of Education Program: Courses
LCC-EDU 301 (3)
Schools and Educational Change in England
The course will be organized around three major themes. First,
an introduction to schools, schooling and learners in England.
This theme will examine the way English schools work with
exceptionally diverse pupil populations to build success in learning
and explore some of the barriers they need to address. The
second theme, investigating classrooms, provides a structured
approach to exploring classroom processes, involving practical
research assignments and supported observation as well as
workshops and seminars at the Institute. The third theme is
comparative, and explores education reform in England, which
has been – and remains – wide-ranging and extremely influential
worldwide.
